In his latest music video for the song “Hold Me,” Quavo pays tribute to his late nephew Takeoff. The video takes viewers on a journey from Atlanta to Paris, where Quavo attends a memorial service for his nephew in Atlanta and then travels to Paris, visiting iconic landmarks like the Eiffel Tower and attending a pop-up shop.
In the song’s lyrics, Quavo expresses his emotions and reflects on the loss of his nephew and other loved ones. He touches on the pain he’s experienced and the challenges he’s faced dealing with loss.
“Lost my nephew to gunplay and smoke shit / Lost my dawgs to some petty ass ho shit,” he raps, addressing the losses he’s had to endure.
The video not only serves as a tribute to Takeoff but also captures Quavo’s journey of mourning, healing, and finding solace in his music and his fans. “Hold Me” is part of Quavo’s solo album “Rocket Power,” which features collaborations with other artists like Young Thug, Hunxho, and BabyDrill.
