Soulja Boy is back with a new music video for his single “Candy,” which arrived two weeks ago. The rapper handles both the vocals and production on the track, delivering a club ready record built around steady claps and icy synth sounds. The colorful visual keeps things simple, focusing on party scenes and dancing that match the song’s playful energy.
“Candy” brings the familiar Soulja Boy formula, with straightforward flows, direct lyrics, and a laid back delivery. While the production gives the track a catchy bounce, the song may not do much to change the minds of listeners who have been critical of his recent music. Still, fans looking for something fun and easy to play at a party may find something to enjoy. The new video gives the single another chance to catch people’s attention.
