Meek Mill Speaks On Philly Violence With “Philly Heathens”

Meek Mill is putting the spotlight on his hometown with “Philly Heathens,” one of two tracks he recently released after songs leaked online. The Philadelphia rapper uses the record to talk about the impact of street violence and the people left dealing with the consequences.

Meek touches on families who have lost loved ones and young people who find themselves caught up in a dangerous lifestyle. His message is matched by a strong hook, where he shows off more of his singing voice than fans may expect. “Philly Heathens” gives Meek a chance to address serious issues in his city while also showing a more melodic side of his music.
