In celebration of 50 years of hip-hop, Sprite Limelight has brought together Latto and Rakim for their collaborative track, “Technique.”
The song is a modern-day remake of Rakim & Eric B’s 1992 classic, “Don’t Sweat The Technique.” In this version, the young Atlanta superstar, Latto, takes the mic at a party filled with breakdancing.
Latto’s lyrics in the song include lines like, “Tell me when they made it cool to be a hater? / Every year, I’m goin’ bigger, doin’ greater / Got ’em dissing for a spot, I keep it player / Putting on for my city, playing County to Decatur.”
The music video also includes an interview segment with Big Latto and the legendary Rakim himself.
This release comes after Latto’s recent accomplishments, including her first No. 1 Billboard Hot 100 hit for her contribution to Jung Kook’s “Seven” and her feature on Davido’s “Unavailable (Remix)” alongside Musa Keys.
